この計画は、築80年の古民家を一度解体し、主要な部材を再利用することで、時間を継承する住まいを再構築する試みである。長い年月を経た梁や柱は、単なる構造材ではなく、この場所に蓄積された記憶そのものとして、空間の中心に据えられている。

色彩は、古材のもつ深みや質感を際立たせるために、あえて抑制的に、しかし現代的な緊張感をもって選定した。新しい素材や仕上げは、古さを模倣するのではなく、対比として存在し、時間の層を空間の中に可視化している。

平面構成には、伝統的な「田の字」型を手がかりとしながら、その周縁部に新たな居場所や動線を付加することで、中心と周辺が緩やかに連続する構成とした。かつての住まいの骨格を尊重しつつ、現代の暮らしに応答する柔軟な空間を重ねることで、古さと新しさが共存する建築を目指している。

This project reconstructs an 80-year-old traditional house by carefully dismantling it and reusing its primary structural elements, aiming to carry time forward into a new living environment. The aged beams and columns are treated not merely as structural components, but as vessels of memory, placed at the core of the spatial composition.

Color is used with restraint, allowing the depth and texture of the reclaimed materials to stand out, while introducing a contemporary sense of tension. New materials do not imitate the old; instead, they exist in contrast, making the layers of time legible within the space.

The plan is based on the traditional ta-no-ji layout, reinterpreted by adding new spaces and circulation along its perimeter. By extending life to the edges, the relationship between center and periphery becomes fluid and continuous. Through this layering of old and new, the project seeks to create an architecture in which past and present coexist, adapting inherited forms to contemporary ways of living.
