花輪はお祝いで掲げる造花装飾である。ここでは、街を祝祭空間へと変える垂幕をデザインした。都市の境界に広がる公共空間は、人々の活動や感情が交差する場でもある。祝いのしるしとして街に現れる花輪は、個人の出来事を超えて、共同体の記憶や時間の積層を可視化してきた。それらは環境に耐え、繰り返し用いられることで、祝祭の気配を日常の風景の中に定着させる装置とも言える。

Hanawa are artificial floral decorations displayed to mark celebrations. In this project, they are reinterpreted as vertical banners that transform the city into a festive space. Public spaces at the edge of the city function as places where human activities and emotions intersect. As symbols of celebration appearing in the urban landscape, hanawa extend beyond individual events to make visible the accumulated memories and layers of time within a community. Enduring harsh environments and reused repeatedly, they can be understood as devices that anchor the presence of festivity within the everyday cityscape.
