桧

床と天井に桧材を使用し、その肌触りと肌目の細かさに包まれるような、気品のある空間に仕上げた。床に比べて天井のピッチを細かくすることで陰影を増やし、シャープで表情のある光の回り方を演出している。

Cypress

Cypress is used for the floor and ceiling, creating a classy space that envelops you with its texture and fine grain. The pitch of the ceiling is finer than that of the floor to strengthen the contrast and create sharp and expressive light reflections.

左官仕事

改修前の壁材に使用されていた漆喰を改修後にも使用し、伝統ある質感が新旧をつなぐ役割を果たしている。また、職人仕事の素材の連続性を意識し、キッチン周りは別の塗材によって仕上げ統一感をもたせた。

Plastering

The plaster used for the walls before the renovation is also used after the renovation, and its traditional texture serves as a link between the old and the new. In addition, the kitchen area is finished with a different paint material to create a sense of unity.

執務と住居

働きながら住むというクライアントの生活スタイルに合わせ、仕事とプライベートをゆるやかにつなぎつつ、一方で干渉し合わないよう設計した。将来的に執務空間か居住空間かのどちらかに変化していくことを想定し、そのどちらに変化しても成立する建築を目指した。

Working and Living

In accordance with the client's lifestyle of living while working, I designed the building to loosely connect work and private life, while at the same time avoiding interference with each other. I envisioned that the space would change in the future to either an office space or a living space, and aimed to create an architecture that would be viable in either case.
